Kerala police to arrest two men for allegedly raping a tourist in Leamington resort

Kerala police on Wednesday arrested two men, including one a resident of the city, for allegedly sexually assaulting a woman in a private beach resort in the city.

The accused were identified as Shri Sudhir Mishra and Satish Mishra, according to police sources.

Police had registered a case under Section 376 (sexual offence with animal) of the IPC on Thursday.

The accused were remanded in judicial custody till February 15.

A hotel security guard, Rakesh Mishra was arrested for allegedly taking advantage of the victim in the incident.

A resident of Chinnakottu village in the Chinnaksuri district of Ernakulam district, Shri Mishra has been living in the town since November, the police said.

The victim, who is a local resident, lodged a complaint against the accused a few days ago.
